Great service! All the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about cycling and the best routes for the area. I visited Phoenix from out of state. I rented a Trek Checkpoint SL5 from them, beautiful bike. If I ever visit Phoenix again I’ll definitely return to REI for a rental! They had such a wide variety of bikes and other outdoor equipment.
We’ve rented mountain bikes a couple times from REI now and it’s an easy, seamless process. Even as total beginners, we’re able to make an online reservation and get bikes on the mountain in short time with no hassle. Returning the bikes is a super short and simple process, too, which is very appreciated when you’re exhausted from a morning of biking. Really appreciate this service and the friendly staff!
I rented a hardtail mountain bike. The pickup process was so quick and efficient. Same as the drop off process. I needed the bike for an extra day and REI easily accomodated my request. The bike was just what I needed for a 5-day adventure. Highly recommend REI if you are in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.
Got a good full sus MTB as ordered, and some hints on routes to go. Couldn't ask for more!

Fantastic bike rental operation! My sister and I rented two hybrid bikes (Hybrid/Touring Bike - CTY 1.2 SM) for 4 hours and had a great fun ride down to the Greenbelt. 20 miles of easy, flat riding.
Bikes and helmets were in top condition.
Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

This was my 4th time renting mountain bikes from REI Adventure Center with their drop off service at the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Amazing service, great bikes, helmets, and knowledgeable and flexible employees. I absolutely recommend REI for a seamless mountain bike experience at an amazing location.
Amazing mtb rental. when I called ahead they had my rear suspension tuned in with my weight ahead of time. They gave me great directions to the better trailhead also.
We did the 2 hr kayaking tour and it was an incredible experience. Fantastic views and Greg was an excellent river guide. We were fortunate that no one else signed up for the time we picked and we essentially got a private tour down the river which was amazing and Greg made sure to snap some beautiful pictures for us so we could enjoy the experience. Missy shuttled us there and back and was also very friendly and professional. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting. I had no idea that Arizona had such gorgeous scenary!
